Trade Evaluator Overview

The Trade Evaluator is a powerful diagnostic tool designed to analyze the impact of your trading activity over time. By examining your historical buy and sell decisions, you can determine exactly how specific trades have influenced your portfolio’s total return and whether your active management is providing a net benefit to your investment performance.

The tool is highly versatile: you can evaluate individual trades, aggregate all activity for a specific ticker, or analyze every transaction within a single portfolio or group of portfolios.

The Trade Evaluator is fully configurable, offering both Summary and Detail formats. Crucially, it allows you to compare your actual trading results against a benchmark (such as the S&P 500) to see if a “buy and hold” strategy in an index would have outperformed your active choices.

Accessing the Trade Evaluator

The Trade Evaluator is located under Portfolio Tools in the Start Menu.

If the Trade Evaluator is not visible, you can enable it by customizing your Stock Rover Start Menu. Simply click the hamburger icon (☰) in the upper left-hand corner of the Start Menu to access your configuration options.
