Finding Promising Stocks

Finding promising stocks in Stock Rover usually begins by selecting and then running a screener aligned with your investment philosophy.

Out of the box, Stock Rover provides number of excellent screeners, plus there are many more available from the Investor’s Library. Each screener embodies a specific investment theme to help you find good investment candidates that are in alignment with your own investing approach.

To run a screener, simply select Screeners in the Start Menu, Table in the Navigation Panel and then click on the desired screener to run it and load the result into the table. The default list of screeners is shown below.

We have starred a few of the screeners that we think are a good place to begin when searching for good stocks to invest in.

Top Stocks Factory Screeners

Buffettology Inspired Screener

First off, you can’t go wrong starting with the Buffettology Inspired screener. It is based on the principles of Warren Buffet and embodies the criteria described in the bestselling Buffettology book. The screener looks for companies with a 10-year track record of generally increasing EPS with no negative earnings years; reasonable long-term debt; and a strong Return on Equity and Return on Invested Capital track record, along with a reasonable valuation.

Dividend Growth Screener

Dividend fans should check out the Dividend Growth screener. It looks for companies with a good track record of growing dividends, along with a solid sales and earnings growth, and a supportable dividend payout ratio to help ensure the dividend increases continue into the future.

Growth at a Reasonable Price Screener

GARP fans (Growth At a Reasonable Price) should check out the eponymous Growth at a Reasonable Price screener to find companies growing sales and EPS, yet trade at reasonable valuations.

Large Cap Growth with Momentum Screener

Momentum fans will want to run the Large Cap Growth with Momentum screener to find larger companies that are performing well vs. the market, their sector and their industry and are growing, yet still sport a reasonable valuation.

Large Cap Value Screener

If you like value, then the Large Cap Value screener will find you some promising candidates.

Small Cap Growth Screener

Finally if you like big growth in little companies, check out the Small Cap Growth screener.

In addition to these screeners, we recommend that you explore the remaining screeners in your account and the screeners in the Investor’s Library.
