Seeing How My Portfolios Are Doing

In Stock Rover, there are a variety of ways to examine the performance of your portfolios. We will cover each in turn, beginning with the Dashboard.

The Dashboard

The Dashboard a good place to start to view the performance of your portfolios, especially for the current trading day. You get a quick snapshot of how your portfolios are doing vs. the market, followed more detailed data in table and chart form. The top portion of the Dashboard is shown in the screenshot below. Scrolling the live Dashboard would reveal the rest of the data displays.

The Dashboard

The Dashboard is easily customizable. The portfolios to include, the time frames to display, and the order and appearance of the sections of the dashboard can all be changed.

You can learn more about the Dashboard in our help pages.

The Table

In the Stock Rover Table, the Portfolio Performance View, contained in the Portfolio View Folder, displays a lot of useful information for each of the holdings in a given portfolio, as shown in the screenshot below.

The Chart

Portfolios can be charted in Stock Rover as shown in the screenshot below. Note that the returns shown are calculated assuming dividends were reinvested.

Portfolio Analytics

The Portfolio Analytics facility is designed to give you detailed return, risk, and risk adjusted return information. It is also excellent for showing you which of your holdings in each of your portfolios are contributing the most to good performance, and conversely which positions are hindering performance.

There are three separate displays in Analytics. The screenshot below shows Holdings Detail display, but there are also displays for Value Over Time and Risk and Reward.
