Value Investing in Stock Rover: Screeners, Fair Value, and 20 Years of Context

Value investing is a measurement discipline: what a business earns, what its assets are worth, and what the market currently charges for them. Stock Rover’s job is to make that measurement fast, repeatable and complete. No stock picks here, just the machinery.

The value workflow

Start from the library. The 150+ screener library includes classic value approaches: deep value, Graham-style nets, Buffett- and Greenblatt-inspired models, and academic checklists like the Piotroski F-Score, Altman Z-Score and Beneish M-Score. Import one, inspect its rules, and tighten thresholds to taste, or describe what you want in plain language and let AI screener creation build it.

Measure price against value. Stock Rover computes an estimated fair value and margin of safety for covered stocks (on Premium, 20 tickers a month plus the Dow 30; unlimited from Premium Plus up). Valuation charts (Premium Plus and up) plot P/E, price-to-sales and price-to-book against their own multi-year ranges, so “cheap” is measured against the company’s history, not a hunch.

Check the balance sheet. Up to 20 years of fundamentals (10 on Premium Plus, 5 on Premium) covers debt, coverage, margins and returns on capital through full cycles, and equation screening (Premium Plus and up) lets you write the tests directly: ten-year average earnings yield, EV-based multiples, incremental returns on capital.

Rank the survivors. Percentile screening (Ultimate) ranks candidates against sector or index so a low multiple in a cheap sector reads differently from a low multiple in an expensive one.

What the data supports

800+ metrics at the top tiers (400+ on Premium), 14,000+ North American stocks, 20 years of price and fundamental history on Ultimate, and Research Reports (included from Premium Plus, covering 7,000+ stocks) that print the valuation case, peer comparison and risk flags on one 8-page document.
