Momentum Tab

The Momentum tab evaluates the strength and velocity of a stock’s price movements. It is important to note that the Momentum rating differs from other Stock Rating components: while other categories rank a company against its specific industry group, the Momentum rating evaluates the stock against the entire ratings universe. This provides a broader perspective on how a stock’s price strength compares to the market as a whole.

As shown in the screenshot below, the Momentum tab provides several layers of technical and seasonal analysis:

• Percentile Ranks & Grades: This section displays the company’s percentile rank and letter grade for various Momentum Factors and Momentum Risk Factors.
• Performance Comparison Graph: A dynamic line graph compares the stock’s Trailing Twelve Month (TTM) performance against both its specific Industry and the S&P 500.
• Seasonal Comparison: A specialized bar graph illustrates a 10-year seasonal performance history, showing how the stock typically performs relative to the S&P 500 during different months of the year.
• Peer Analysis Table: This table compares the stock’s momentum rating to other companies within its industry group, providing additional context through specific technical metrics.
