Stock Rover™ Announces the Release of V5

Braintree, MA - September 12, 2014

On Monday, September 8th Stock Rover LLC released version 5 of Stock Rover, which features a smartphone app, as well as freeform screener equations and ticker alerts for Premium users. Also included in this release are a handful of performance improvements.

The newly-designed smartphone app allows Stock Rover users to check in on portfolios, find stock price quotes, see market news, and perform some in-depth research capabilities. The phone app is available by logging in through www.stockrover.com from the phone’s browser.

In the main web app, freeform screener equations are the signature component of V5. This feature allows users to screen using comparison between two metrics as criteria as well as screen on historical data. The freeform equation screener supports arithmetic and Boolean operators as well, so for example a user could screen for stocks that increased their EPS by 10% in the last year or increased their Sales by 7% since last quarter. Screener equations are a Premium feature, but will be available for all users for four weeks from September 22 to October 20.

This release also contained the Beta version of Stock Rover’s Alerts facility currently being tested by a volunteer group of users. Alerts let users set specific criteria which will trigger an email or text to notify the user when a ticker passes a certain threshold. There are currently 14 different alerts criteria that users can use, including when a stock crosses its 20-day simple moving average, or when the price reaches a specific amount. Alerts will be a Premium feature when included in the general release.

Additionally, this release brought a several enhancements. The target price has been made global so that users can add a target price to any ticker in Stock Rover; users can update a portfolio by right-clicking and selecting ‘Import’; and Premium users can add portfolios directly to a subfolder by right-clicking the subfolder and selecting ‘Create’. Lastly, the help menu in the app has been reorganized to link to the video library, the help pages, and the support pages.

More detail about these changes can be found in the Stock Rover blog.
