In this video, we’ll explain key concepts that help you quickly navigate and take advantage of Stock Rover’s investment research capabilities.
We’ll begin with the Start menu, where all of Stock Rover’s features and capabilities are accessed. The Start menu default settings is to expose the most frequently used features.
On an initial login, you’re given the option to configure the Start menu to expose more features. In the beginning, you may want to stay with the default settings, but you can reconfigure the Start menu at any time by clicking on the hamburger.
Simple mode exposes the most frequently used features.
Full exposes all Stock Rover features.
Custom is where you select the features that you would like to expose. Let’s add the Future Income tool.
Right-clicking
At any time, you can right-click in the Start menu and access the full feature set. This is especially helpful for accessing features that are accessed only occasionally. Note that right-clicking on Portfolios, Watchlists, or Screeners reveals functions specific to each of them.
The Start menu can be collapsed to optimize screen space, and you can still right-click to access the full feature set. While we’re on the subject of right-click, a good rule of thumb is when in doubt, right-click.
For example, when we select Screeners and right-click on the Screeners folder, we get general screener Options.
When we right-click on a screener, we get screener-specific options. In the Table, we can right-click on a row for row options. We can right-click on a column for column options.
Double-clicking
Let’s switch from All to the Table layout. Double-clicking on a row, switches to the Insight panel. When we double-click on the row again, it switches back to the Chart.
Selecting Layouts
We can also click on the appropriate layout in the Start menu. For example, Table, Chart, Insight, or All.
