Welcome to our guide on how Quotes work in Stock Rover.
The Quotes List is a flexible tool that lets you quickly add and compare tickers and perform research without having to create a full watchlist or portfolio.
In this video, we’ll cover how to manage and view your Quotes List, combine quotes with Portfolios, Watchlists, or Screeners, and use Comparison Mode for a side-by-side analysis.
Enter Ticker
Adding tickers to the Quotes List is really simple.
The quickest way is to use the Enter Ticker box. I’m interested in adding Agilent to my Quotes List.
Stock Rover automatically switches to Quotes under My Collections and shows the six tickers currently in the active Quotes List.
They’re loaded into the Table for comparison, and quotes are always a single click away.
For example, I’ll switch over to a watchlist.
If I want to come back and keep working with the Quotes List, all I need to do is select Quotes.
Managing and Viewing Quotes
There are several ways to add or manage tickers right from the Quotes View.
I can click on the hyperlink that shows how many tickers are in the list.
I can right-click on a ticker or just use the Quotes box to add one or multiple tickers.
I can delete tickers or bring back tickers I’ve recently removed.
I can also sort the tickers on the Quotes List. The hamburger menu shows additional options.
Combining Quotes with Portfolios, Watchlists, or Screeners
Beyond individual research, the true power lies in combining the Quotes List with your existing dataset.
By clicking the plus button, you can instantly merge the Quotes List into your current view for side-by-side comparison.
Tickers from your Quotes List not already in your dataset will be highlighted in bold.
Clicking the X button will remove them from the current dataset view, and you can toggle them back by clicking the plus sign.
Clicking an X next to a ticker removes it from the active Quotes List.
By default, tickers merged from the Quotes List are only visible when the specific dataset is active.
Switching to another Portfolio, Watchlist, Screener, or index will remove them from the view.
However, for continuous comparison across all datasets, you can enable Comparison Mode by clicking on the Quotes box and selecting Comparison Mode.
This ensures your chosen tickers remain visible regardless of the dataset you’re currently exploring.
For example, when I switch to another watchlist, the tickers from the Quotes List remain in the table.
Conclusion
That’s the Quotes List — quick, easy, and perfect for checking out tickers on the fly.
