Privacy Policy — SMS/Text Messaging Program
This Privacy Policy describes how [Stock Rover, LLC] ("Stock Rover," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with our text-message alert program ("Stock Rover Alerts"). It supplements our general Privacy Statement.
Information we collect
When you enable text alerts in your Stock Rover account, we collect:
- Your mobile phone number and mobile carrier;
- Records of your opt-in/consent (date, time, and method);
- The alert criteria you configure (e.g., ticker symbols, price or technical conditions, and any optional notes you add);
- Message activity needed to operate the program (delivery status, frequency, and STOP/HELP requests).
How we use this information
We use it solely to:
- Send the stock and portfolio alert messages you have configured;
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the alert program and enforce per-user sending limits;
- Respond to HELP requests and provide customer support;
- Comply with legal obligations and carrier/CTIA requirements.
How we share information — and what we never share
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
- We do not sell or rent your mobile phone number or any text-messaging opt-in data or consent to anyone.
- We share your mobile number only with the messaging service providers that deliver our texts on our behalf (e.g., our SMS aggregator/Twilio and the mobile carriers), strictly to transmit the messages you requested. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your information for their own purposes.
- The above categories of use and sharing exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information is not shared with any third parties.
Message frequency and rates
Message frequency varies based on the alerts you configure. By default you will receive no more than 4 alert messages per day; you can adjust your limit in your account settings. Message and data rates may apply.
Opting out and getting help
- Reply STOP at any time to cancel text alerts. You will receive a one-time confirmation, after which we will send no further texts unless you opt back in.
- Reply HELP for help, or contact us at support@stockrover.com.
- You may also disable text alerts at any time in your Stock Rover account settings.
Data retention
We retain your mobile number, consent records, and alert configuration for as long as your text-alert program is active and as required to comply with legal and carrier recordkeeping obligations, after which we delete or de-identify it.
Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect this information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., California/CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact support@stockrover.com.
Children
Stock Rover Alerts are not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
